What God spoke to me this morning 12/22

WOW, God really spoke to me on a few things this morning.  In 1 Samuel He spoke to me concerning loyalty and trust.

People will always let you down, even when you put your neck on the line for them. Serve people, but always put your faith and trust in God (1 Samuel 23)

I am reading through a book that was published in 1929 (The Necessity of Prayer) and written by on old school preacher by the name of E.M. Bounds.  Seriously this guy is in your face.  His writings are rocking me to the core!  Here’s a little excerpt from something I read this morning.

Neglect of the inner chamber is the soultion of most inner failure… to be much on our knees in private communion with God is the only surety that we will have him with us either in our personal struggles, or in our efforts to convert sinners. (The Necessity of Prayer, Chapter 3 - E.B. Bounds)

Prayer gives us the confidence and victory we need for the  inside battles & the outside battles of this faith journey.

Seriously if you are in ministry, you need to read this book (again, you can buy it on abebooks.com for $1.19)

  • Thank you so much for this. We have had a tragedy befall a friend who looks to be about your age. Please read about it http://tinyurl.com/ax7g3s Thank you for your wonderful posts on your blog as well. Great stuff.

  • Thanks for the encouraging words. Wow, Im so sorry to hear about the girls father. I am a youth pastor in Jacksonville, Florida (so my heart is close to young people). Do you live in South Padre? If you would, keep me posted on their father’s condition. Thank you.
